Early 30s Little Rascals' applicability to everything notwithstanding, how old do you think 505 is?

Nice!

We had a Santana/Quantum in the same color. The seats were cloth and so soft. We had it about 2 years after we sold the Gol GTS (We had a chevette in between), I remember to this day when my dad bought it and picked me up with it in school. My mind couldn't wrap around how roomy that car was.

Remember, if it needs work, you have to hire Quantum Mechanics.

Also, my mom can't watch NCIS:New Orleans because she keeps thinking the main charachter is still from Quantum Leap, hehe...

Have Al tell Ziggy to pull the CARFAX, it can tell you when it will need major repairs

Awesome! You had a Parati/Fox, too, right?

Was the Diesel any good? I wonder how these cars would've worked over here. We had the Ethanol 2.0 engine.

Our Gol was the "GTS" edition, with the 1.8 water cooled engine, the iconic "Orbital" wheels and Recaro seats. I knew the Recaro seats were special because everyone always pointed at them for being special. But they were hard and not very comfortable for a 5 year old.

yup, the Parati wagon - great memory!

the diesel was great, gorgeous car that got totally ruined by the guy who bought it and beat it. Fairly slow, but a beast in the snow and always fired right off

Ahahah. I remember I did a quick hunt once to find Parati badges you could use. Probably in the early days of Kinja. That would be awesome.

Pretty much the opposite of the Ethanol engines in the Passat here! My grandpa had one. 4 gears, vinyl seats. During winter he would cover the engine with a blanket. And leave a hot water bottle in there while he had breakfast so it would start. But once it was warm, that thing was pretty fast.

Awesome Wagon. I didn't read the CL ad (because blocked at work), how on earth is that thing that clean being in Maine? Old VW's are rust magnets. How did that thing manage so long apparently unscathed?

As for Quantum Leap, I loved that show. The series finale still brings a tear to my eye even though I've probably watched it 10 times. As does "The Leap Home" part one.

ah this is in CT, which has similar salt issues but still, it looks pretty damn clean for something that usually rusts all to hell!
